What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember information about your visit — your login state, the items in your cart, your language preference — between pages and between visits. "Similar technologies" includes local storage, session storage, web beacons (pixels), and tracking scripts that perform comparable functions.
Cookies set by naturalknows.com itself are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by services we use — Google, Mailchimp, our payment processor — are third-party cookies.
How we use cookies
Natural Knows uses cookies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account and remember your preferences.
- Run the cart, the checkout, and membership access (WooCommerce).
- Protect the site against fraud, abuse, and brute-force logins (Wordfence and similar).
- Measure how the site is used so we can improve what we publish (Google Analytics).
- Where AdSense is enabled, serve advertising and (with your consent where required) personalise it.
- Track newsletter signups and confirm email delivery (Mailchimp).
- Record your cookie-consent choices so we don't ask you again on every page.

Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function — login, cart, checkout, security tokens, your cookie-consent choice. Cannot be switched off without breaking those features.
Functional
Remember non-essential preferences (recently viewed articles or products, display options). Optional.
Analytics
Help us understand how the site is used in aggregate — which articles are read, where readers come from, how long they stay. Set only with consent where required by law.
Advertising
Used by Google AdSense and its partners to serve relevant ads and to measure ad performance. Set only with consent where required by law.

Third parties that set cookies on our site
- Google — Analytics (GA4), AdSense, DoubleClick. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Mailchimp — newsletter and lead-magnet tracking. Governed by Mailchimp's Privacy Policy.
- WooCommerce — cart and checkout session cookies (first-party but installed by a third-party plugin).
- Wordfence — security cookies for firewall and login protection.
- Payment processor (e.g. Stripe, PayPal) — anti-fraud and transaction cookies during checkout.
Google AdSense & the DART cookie
Where Google AdSense is enabled, Google may use the DART cookie to serve ads to our visitors based on previous visits to naturalknows.com and other sites on the internet. Google and its partners use cookies to measure ad performance and (with consent where required) to personalise advertising.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
There is no consistent industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, and Natural Knows does not currently respond to DNT. Where applicable, we treat a recognised Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request for the sale or sharing of personal information under California law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools and the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
